The LCBC Executive Secretary took advantage of his mission to Khartoum to visit BADEA following the latter's visit to LCBC in November 2000.
LCBC's new approach which is to intensify and diversify its cooperation with other regional or international financial organizations and institutions was discussed with BADEA's Managing Director and his close collaborators. The mission also discussed problems relating to the implementation of projects on LCBC's Master Plan, with special emphasis on priority projects like Water Transfer from Oubangui to Lake Chad which requires considerable financial means.
While expressing his gratitude and readiness to beef up cooperation ties between his Institution and LCBC, the Managing Director observed that BADEA's Board of Directors had already drawn up a list of projects to be financed in the year 2001. Nevertheless, he promised to do his best to intercede for LCBC. The latter should forward to him all the Terms of Reference of priority projects by 31 May, 2001. Their TOR should cover components like technical assistance, training and water resources. A letter was dispatched to them in this connection.
